ContentCal IQ
ContentCal (now owned by Adobe) wanted a stand out AI content creation tool. Working for Airborne Studio, I helped shape a system that was way ahead of its time.
The Challenge
Before AI-generated content became mainstream, ContentCal was ahead of the curve—envisioning a groundbreaking platform that could autogenerate marketing content for social media, websites, and email campaigns. Airborne Studio was tasked with the ambitious challenge of designing and building this innovative system within a six-month timeframe.
The Process
The UX design process for ContentCal IQ began with an intensive design sprint focused on aligning user needs with product goals. We identified key requirements, such as allowing users to tailor tone of voice, adjust content length, and select content types—ranging from Instagram posts and tweets to long-form blogs.
From there, we developed wireframes that explored these possibilities while carefully considering the limitations of AI-generated content at the time. To streamline the user workflow, we also integrated options for selecting accompanying media—often a time-consuming step in content creation. Given the early-stage skepticism surrounding AI writing, the user interface was intentionally designed to be clean, intuitive, and approachable—eschewing a cold, overly technical feel in favor of a friendly, confidence-building experience.
The Result
Adobe acquired ContentCal shortly after the completion of the product design phase, which paused the launch of the IQ platform. Nonetheless, the work I led during this period significantly deepened my expertise in designing AI-powered systems—particularly in balancing advanced capabilities with a user-centric experience. This project was instrumental in shaping my approach to harnessing AI in ways that remain intuitive, accessible, and aligned with real user needs.
